“My Fiancé and I were so happy and relieved once we found Pets of Honor. From the early stages of our wedding planning, we knew that we wanted Willow, our little furry child to be part of the big day. After the discussion of not want to burden our friends or family (who were also guests of the wedding) with the responsibility of transporting and watching Willow throughout the day, we started our online search and that led us to Pets of Honor.
I reached out to inquire online and got a timely response from Lauren, the owner of Pets of Honor. She sent me her flexible calendar and we scheduled a time for a Zoom consultation. During the consultation, she reviewed the different packages that Pets of Honor offers and went through each step of the process throughout the wedding day. To be honest, a lot of the details that she reviewed with me, I did not even think of before our call! I was very impressed with her attention to detail and felt very satisfied after our consultation.
I spoke with my Fiancé after the call and we both knew that we wanted to hire Pets of Honor to care for Willow on our special day. Pets of Honor not only just offers wedding day services but also offers dog sitting services. We were so happy to find this out during the consultation because we had a friend’s wedding in Chicago to attend just a few weeks before our wedding. We set up a meet and greet with Willow and Phil (Lauren’s Golden Retriever) before we took our trip to Chicago. The dogs got along great, and we felt very comfortable leaving Willow with Lauren over our weekend trip. We received daily photos of Willow and knew that she was in the best care.
On the wedding day Willow was very comfortable with Lauren, and having Pets of Honor there was a huge stress that was lifted off our shoulders. Lauren drove to our cabins in Evergreen to pick up Willow and chauffeured her to our venue in Pine, CO (about a 30-minute drive). She provided Willow with toys, treats, and even left a personalized treat at the cabins for us. She kept Willow calm throughout the few hours that we had her at the venue, and we got the most precious photos with Willow thanks to Pets of Honor. Lauren even took some photos of Willow watching over the ceremony as we got married and it literally melted my heart. After the ceremony, Willow was chauffeured back to the cabins where Lauren fed her, walked her, and made sure she was all set until we got back after the reception. Lauren communicated very well throughout the entire day by sending texts to my mom to keep us in the loop. We were very thrilled with the entire process and so happy with how the day turned out.
After the wedding, we had booked Pets of Honor to watch Willow while we were on our honeymoon in Europe. We had no worries at all and knew that Lauren would take the best care of her while we were away. I would 10/10 recommend Pets of Honor to anyone who wants to include their furry friends on their big day or even if you are just taking a trip and need a professional, thoughtful, reliable dog sitter. “I didn’t quite know what we needed for our pup on our wedding day until I came across Pets of Honor. One thing I did know…we didn’t want to task anyone in the bridal party with handling our 4 year old female Golden Retriever, Finley, during our wedding as I wanted everyone to enjoy our special day. I am so happy we used this service!
We had a consultation and Lauren immediately diffused any stress I had with trying to incorporate Finley in our day. She asked me questions I hadn’t thought about and helped us make decisions to determine exactly we were looking for. It was such a relief to have Lauren at our wedding to take care of our sweet pup during all the craziness and chaos of keeping up with timelines.
We took photos off site and Lauren showed up early to check it out. She worked with the photographer keep Finley’s attention so we could get some great photos! From there, she drove Finley to the venue and walked Fin to get some excitement out while we continued to take venue photos and then went inside for a bit to relax before the ceremony (where Finley was not allowed). Had Lauren not been there, I would have been worried about what Finley was doing and wanting to go outside myself.
We wanted Finley to run down the aisle and Lauren effortlessly walked Finley to her position, had her sit, and released her from her leash. Finley ran down the aisle perfectly and you could hear our guests all react with “awww!” It was amazing.
Additionally, our unity portion of the ceremony was signing our marriage license and having Finley put her paw print on it. Lauren provided the nontoxic ink for dogs...which was one less thing I had to think about ordering for our wedding day. Once again, Lauren was able to get Finley exactly to her position and Finley successfully signed our marriage license. Our guests absolutely loved it!
After the ceremony, Lauren took Finley around to greet everyone and say hi during cocktail hour. Once cocktail hour concluded, we headed inside and this is when we had to say bye to Finley, but the Pets of Honor services didn’t stop there. She drove Finley back to our hotel room, fed her, took her out to potty and walked her…and even hung out a little to keep her company as it was going to be a long night for us. Lauren texted me when she left to let me know that Finley was safe and sound…and one tired pup!
I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that I used this service. There are a million things going on during your wedding day and for the longest time I thought I could handle it all. As soon as we turned Finley over to Lauren for the day, it was one less thing I had to manage (and really, from the consultation on, one last thing I had to stress about) and Finley had the best time with Lauren!
If you’re like us, you absolutely love and adore your pup. We couldn’t imagine our wedding day without Finley, and looking back, we couldn’t imagine our wedding day without having Lauren there to take care of Finley.
